Day 1 - Tuesday (L, D)

Tilt Train to the Fraser Coast to be greeted by 'Mary Heritage'. Enjoy afternoon tea with 'Mary' in a 'grand old lady of architecture' overlooking the Mary River. Enjoy a brief river walk with Mary before being transferred to the Carriers Arms Deluxe Hotel for a 4 night stay. Tonight we marvel at the fabulous display of Maryborough's Christmas lights by Night!

 

Day 2 - Wednesday (B, L, D)

This morning we board "C17" steam locomotive, No 802, that was built in England in 1927. Our trip winds it way through the scenic Mary Valley before arriving at historic Kandanga Station. The train then continues to Imbil where it terminates and we continue on to the Hideaway Historic Hotel for BBQ lunch. Return to Maryborough via the scenic rural route.

 

Day 3 - Thursday (B, L, D)

Merry Christmas! A festive breakfast before we depart for Hervey Bay Boat Harbour to board the fast cat to Kingfisher Resort on Fraser Island. Enjoy our Christmas Day festive feast of traditional and seafood cuisine. Tonight a light dinner will await you and we will all gather and meet around the pool to enjoy the rest of Christmas Day celebrations.

 

Day 4 - Friday (B, MT, L, D)

Hot Breakfast is served before we depart on 'Proud Mary', cruising the Mary River with commentary on the history of the Mary River; historical floods and stately heritage homes. Next we visit Brennan & Geraghty store museum, which closed in 1971 and still holds the original stock on the shelves. We finish our afternoon with a coastal scenic safari stopping for lunch at Hervey Bay before exploring the esplanade, beaches and marina.

 

Day 5 - Saturday (B)

This morning join 'Mary Heritage' for a Maryborough historic city sights tour, a great way to finish touring this magical region. Transfers to the Tilt Train for our return journey.
