Northern Rivers - Hunter Valley - Armidale - Highland festival at Bundanoon
Fancy a highland fling? Departing Brisbane, we travel south to the green Tweed Valley, taking in the spectacular views and the rolling hills of the Northern Rivers and visit Glen Innes, the highest town on the Plateau, Guyra. Heading south we travel through the famous country music festival town of Tamworth, through Musselbrook then down into the Hunter Valley region through the open cut coal mining town of Singleton for an overnight stay in one of Sydney's early settlements of Windsor and Richmond.
we head from the Hawkesbury region and travel along the base of the Blue Mountains through the city of Penrith. We visit Bowral for the 32nd Annual Highland Gathering at Bundanoon. We visit the Don Bradman Museum for an informative insight into Don Bradman and the Bowral district.

Making our way up the mountain, where explorers Blaxland, Wentworth and Lawson carved their way across the Great Dividing Range, we stop at the Three Sisters Lookout for breath taking views and morning tea. We then head west through Lithgow, and into the farming area of Bathurst, Australia's oldest inland settlement. we depart the picturesque township of Mudgee and travel to the "Town of the ten dollar note" Ð Gulgong, on to Gunnedah for lunch then we travel east toward the city of Tamworth. After Tamworth we head north up the Moonbi Range, through Uralla, to Armidale. Travelling north from Armidale we travel through Guyra, Glen Innes and Tenterfield, before crossing the Queensland border at Wallangarra

We visit the 2nd oldest town west of the Blue Mountains at Mudgee, and continue onto the township of Gulgong, the birthplace of Henry Lawson. We enjoy a tour and experience a prehistoric adventure exploring the popular Cathedral Cave containing the world's largest stalagmite.
Our visit to the Western Plains Zoo depicts a wild and wonderful slice of Africa with animals located across wide open spaces. We head to the grain growing areas of Coonamble & Walgett before our lunch stop at the "Club in the Scrub" with its appealing character, then via "Glengarry Hilton" and the "Sheepyard Inn" into Lightning Ridge for our 2 night stay. Here we will collect our friendly guide for a Town and Field tour. During this tour we will experience Amigo's famous castle with it incredible history, the 'stranger than fiction' Universe Observatory and the Opal Cave
