Luxury travel has often been associated with high end hotels and exclusive destinations. But more often than not mature travellers cite luxurious experiences as those that have the greatest imprint on their travel memories. Travelling with fewer passengers, indulging in a moment of serenity in a beautiful location or discovering wide open spaces. The simple things are the luxuries we seek when travelling.
Here in the Fun Over Fifty office some of us know very little about horse racing, some of us are avid riders and know our 'Paints' from our 'Mustangs'. Regardless, we all agree that we love the spectacle and fanfare of Melbourne's signature racing event. We dress up, we have a flutter and we barrack for horses that many of us have never heard of until the yearly Spring Carnival comes around. Each year 'the race that stops a nation' has us on the edge of our seats.
Embarking on your first cruise can be exciting but also a little overwhelming. By the time you've selected where you'd like to cruise, picked the ship and chosen your stateroom, you may think you've done all the prep you need to do right? Surely you just need to show up with your sunhat, pick a lounger and watch the world go by as you sip cocktails by the pool? Wrong! Don't make the mistake of not being extra prepared when you're hitting the high seas.
We live in an amazing era of travel. Over the last hundred years, when it comes to travel, the world has gotten a lot smaller. Travel is more affordable and we have access to more foreign destinations than ever before. Adventure beckons and the world really is our oyster. Sadly over the last few years there have been a number of events that have us asking, is it safe to travel?
This week we are celebrating all that is wonderful about Western Australia. For many of us WA seems like it's a whole world away, a long haul flight without the perks of an overseas adventure. But the reality couldn't be more different. Right here in Australia we have this amazingly diverse and unique state with a plethora of attractions that can keep travellers from all walks of life enthralled and inspired. Join us as we shine a spotlight on the very best that WA has to offer, the 'must sees' that you just have to put on your Wanderlust List.
It's true that the best way to enjoy your holiday is to immerse yourself in the moment, savour every second and just "be" wherever it is that you happen to be. The reality is that you want to share those moments with loved ones when you return home (and these days, whilst you're still away). So how do you take perfect holiday pics and just how do you go about making sure everyone gets to see them and appreciate them - and quite possibly, get just a little taste of how amazing your travelling adventures have been?
Twice a year in the Fun Over Fifty office the Product Development team goes into 'lock down'. Our goal is to produce a portfolio of tempting tours that showcase this amazing country and select international destinations. A brochure that explains just who we are as a company, our philosophies, our passions and our outlook on travel.
