4 Night Stay: Sofitel Brisbane Central
Today we make our way to the hinterland paradise of Mount Tamborine. Our first stop is at Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk. This exciting eco-adventure will offer us a unique and thrilling way to explore the beautiful rainforest canopies beside the crystal clear rock pools of Cedar Creek. With a comprehensive array of Australian rainforest flora and fauna, the walk is a combination of floor trails and 300 metres of high-tech steel bridges through the highest points of the upper canopy. After our treetop walk, we make our way to lunch before enjoying time at Gallery Walk. This tourist mecca boasts unusual and vibrantly coloured shops, art galleries with original artworks, paintings and sculptures, glass works, pottery, ceramics and antiques and is nestled amongst a selection of coffee shops.
A leisurely start to today, with free time this morning. Take time to do some shopping, rest or maybe head over to Southbank located on the southern banks of the Brisbane River. After enjoying our leisurely morning, adventure awaits today, as we board the coach just before lunch and head south to the Gold Coast. First we stop for fish and chips by the water at Paradise Point (weather permitting) before making our way to Surfers Paradise to board the Aquaduck. A quirky amphibious vehicle that departs travelling along the esplanade before duck-diving into the broadwater. Cruise along and take in the sights of the beautiful waterways and of course the fabulous millionaire’s row. This evening we make our way to the Australian Outback Spectacular, nestled in the Gold Coast’s theme park region. Here we take an exclusive behind the scenes look at the show, meeting some of the cast and the beautiful animals who complete the story. We then take our VIP seats in the top rail section which promises ‘best seats in the house’, as we saddle up for a captivating journey where yarns come alive with inspiring stories of Australian characters and indulge in a sumptuous 3 course meal.
This morning we navigate north towards the Sunshine Coast, stopping at the iconic Eumundi Markets. Renowned for its locally made artisan treasures, these markets feature homewares, artworks, ceramics, fashion, jewellery alongside farmers produce and fresh baked goods. After our time at the markets, we make our way to the coastline, arriving in Noosa Heads for lunch by the waterside. Noosa Heads is surrounded by the calm waters of Laguna Bay, the Noosa National Park and tranquil Noosa River, and boasts a beachside thoroughfare with plenty of designer shops. Making tracks back to Brisbane this afternoon, we stop on the way, for a visit to The Ginger Factory.
We leave the river city behind us as we board our ferry at 10am bound for Tangalooma Island Resort, arriving at 11:15am. After a warm welcome and orientation, we enjoy lunch before checking-in to our resort rooms. This afternoon we journey along the coastline in search of dolphins, dugongs, green sea turtles, rays and more, on a purpose built discovery boat. This vessel provides unobstructed views of Moreton Bay’s intriguing marine life. Full commentary is provided on board, with a live underwater viewing camera. Tonight we experience the highlight of any visit to Tangalooma, the opportunity to hand feed one of the wild bottlenose dolphins that visit the shores each evening on sunset.
2 Night Stay: Tangalooma Island Resort, Moreton Island
This morning we awaken to a majestic sunrise over the ocean before enjoying breakfast. Today we explore the southern end of pristine Moreton Bay aboard Tangalooma’s Southern Safari Tour. Experience the raw and rugged beauty of the island coastline, including the untouched and expansive eastern beach. Lunch today is at the renowned Gutter Bar in Kooringal. The afternoon is yours to enjoy all the resort facilities, with plenty of entertaining options available.
An earlier breakfast this morning, after which we check out to board the 8:30am ferry back to the mainland. We take some time to stop and shop at the DFO outlet store before making our way to the airport for our respective flights home. Brisbane guests will be returned to Brisbane CBD.
