4 Night stay: Mantra South Bank, Brisbane
Today we make our way to the hinterland paradise of Mount Tamborine. Our first stop is at Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk. This exciting eco-adventure will offer us a unique and thrilling way to explore the beautiful rainforest canopies beside the crystal clear rock pools of Cedar Creek. With a comprehensive array of Australian rainforest flora and fauna, the walk is a combination of floor trails and 300 metres of hightech steel bridges through the highest points of the upper canopy. After our treetop walk, we make our way to lunch before enjoying time at Gallery Walk. This tourist mecca boasts unusual and vibrantly coloured shops, art galleries with original artworks, paintings and sculptures, glass works, pottery, ceramics and antiques, and is nestled amongst a selection of coffee shops.
A leisurely start to today, with free time this morning. Take time to do some shopping, rest or maybe explore South Bank. Late morning, we board the coach and head south to the Gold Coast, arriving to enjoy a buffet lunch at the Four Winds 360 Degree Restaurant. Nestled between the beaches of Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach, you can take in the picturesque vistas as far as the eye can see. Savour iconic views, from the golden sand and surf of the coastline, the sparkling ocean on the horizon, to the green tranquillity of the Gold Coast Hinterland. After lunch we take some free time to wander through the local shops or take a short walk along the beach. Next we make our way to Artvo Immersive Gallery. This ‘trick art’ gallery is where you are encouraged to touch and interact with the artworks, photographing yourself in them. You can become part of over 100 3D artworks, placing you in the midst of scenes, locations and famous paintings. Late afternoon, we make our way to the Australian Outback Spectacular, set in the Gold Coast’s theme park region. Here we take an exclusive behind the scenes look at the show, meeting some of the cast and the beautiful animals who complete the story. We then take our VIP seats in the top rail section which promise the ‘best seats in the house’, as we saddle up for a captivating journey where yarns come alive with inspiring stories of Australian characters and indulge in a sumptuous 3 course meal.
Today we enjoy a free day. Take time to have a rest, check out the activities of the Brisbane Festival, visit the museum or take a spin on the Brisbane Wheel. Tonight, to celebrate the end of the Brisbane Festival, Riverfire is set to ignite the skyline with a pyrotechnic extravaganza set to an almighty soundtrack. This is one of the most technically challenging and electrifying fireworks displays in Australia. Fireworks are fired from multiple bridges, barges and city rooftops, and spectators are also treated to aerobatics from the Australian Defence Force. We enjoy a riverside dinner before watching Riverfire from South Bank, providing unparalleled views of the bridges and Brisbane skyline. **Lunch at own expense today
We leave the river city behind us as we board our ferry at 10am bound for Tangalooma Island Resort. After a warm welcome and orientation, we enjoy lunch before checking in to our resort rooms. This afternoon we journey along the coastline in search of dolphins, dugongs, green sea turtles, rays and more, on a purpose built discovery boat. This vessel provides unobstructed views of Moreton Bay’s intriguing marine life. Full commentary is provided on board, with a live underwater viewing camera. Tonight we experience the highlight of any visit to Tangalooma, the opportunity to hand feed one of the wild bottlenose dolphins that visit the shores each evening on sunset.
2 Night Stay: Tangalooma Island Resort, Moreton Island
This morning we awaken to a majestic sunrise over the ocean before enjoying breakfast. Today we explore the southern end of pristine Moreton Island aboard Tangalooma’s Southern Safari Tour. Experience the raw and rugged beauty of the island coastline, including the untouched and expansive eastern beach. Lunch today is at the renowned Gutter Bar in Kooringal. The afternoon is yours to enjoy all the resort facilities, with plenty of entertaining options available.
An earlier breakfast this morning, after which we check out to board the 8:30am ferry back to the mainland. We take some time to stop and shop at the DFO outlet store before making our way to the airport for our respective flights home. Brisbane guests will be returned to Brisbane Coach Terminal
