More than 40 years after his death, Elvis Presley remains a rock ‘n’ roll icon and has yet to be ousted from his position as “The King”. Frankie & Johnny is the theme for this year’s festival, celebrating Elvis’ 1966 film of the same name in which he played a riverboat entertainer. The major highlight today is the Elvis Street Parade. A wonderful parade packed full of Elvis-themed floats, Elvis and Priscilla look-a-likes, vintage and classic cars, motorcycles, marching bands and much more. Enjoy the free concerts at Cooke Park Main Stage, Festival Markets, Elvis Central shop, Cars of the Era Show and The King’s Castle (a unique collection of genuine Elvis memorabilia). Lunch at own expense today.
**Please note: Elvis festival program is subject to change. Lunch is at your own expense today.
This morning is an early start to get to Parkes in time for the Elvis Gospel Church Service. This event has become a much-loved feature of the festival program and the interdenominational service on Sunday morning pays tribute to Elvis’ first love – gospel music. The rest of the day brings much more outdoor entertainment such as the Elvis winner’s concert, Rock & Roll Bands and the mass renewal of wedding vows with Elvis at the Altar. At 2pm be wowed by the 2 hour musical Elvis Feature show – the biggest Elvis concert of the Festival.
** Lunch is at own expense today.
