Check-in to your first class cabin and depart at 10:10am on the Spirit of the Outback for a realistic, up-front view of Queensland’s captivating outback, enjoyed in the comfort of authentically themed surrounds. Our journey west takes us through the heritage towns of the Central West. Dining on board is an experience in itself in the themed restaurant car serving Aussie meals. Watch the sun fade prior to dinner over a quiet drink in the Shearers Rest lounge car (own expense) and get to know your fellow travel companions.
Relax and let the outback come to life in front of your eyes as we wind our way through ever changing scenery and rugged terrain. This epic rail journey arrives at Barcaldine this morning where we have an opportunity to visit the ‘Tree of Knowledge’. Back on-board we finish the last sector of the journey arriving into Longreach. After registration you will be transferred to your accommodation to settle in. This afternoon is at your leisure where you can make use of your multi-visit passes and visit the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and/ or the Qantas Founders Museum. Tonight, you are treated to a welcome dinner and live stockman’s show at the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame.
Enjoy breakfast at your own pace then spend the morning in town or again visiting the iconic attractions included in your package, as hop-on-hop-off shuttles will be available. Entry for today’s country races is included in your package and offers a great opportunity to mingle with the locals. So, jump on-board and make your way to the races at your leisure (races commence at 1pm).
Tonight is the main event and it’s a casual affair and comfortable foot-wear is recommended. Experience dining on the Airpark Precinct for the ‘Under the Southern Cross’ Centenary dinner and let the Qantas Founders Museum host an evening of networking sharing memories and celebrating the milestones of Australia’s iconic airline. The spectacular Luminescent Light Show performance will conclude the evening.

ANZAC day, you have some choices for today. There is an early morning service (make your own way) or alternatively an ANZAC day parade service in town at 9am. From 1pm to 4pm today a shuttle service will be available for those who wish to take advantage of unlimited entry to Qantas Founders Museum and Stockman’s Hall of Fame. Tonight, we gather for a "Farewell to the Outback" specialty Dinner at the Longreach Showgrounds. Dress code: Country Casual
OPTIONAL WINTON DAY TOUR
There is a day tour to Winton offered as an additional extra. There are VERY limited seats so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Enjoy breakfast before checking out of your accommodation at 10am for your respective flights home. You can store your luggage at reception while waiting for your flight back to Brisbane that is scheduled to depart mid-afternoon.

Our coach tours have a baggage restriction of 17kg per person (regardless of flight and rail allowances) due to our Occupational Health & Safety standards. You can also bring one small, soft carry-on bag not exceeding 30cm wide, 30cm high, and 15cm thick that may be stowed in the overhead compartment.

Our Gold Class coaches have a seat capacity of between 44 and 46, but we cap Gold Class tours at 40 guests per tour. Our Diamond Class tours have a capacity of just 26 guests.
