Departing Brisbane on our luxury ‘Gold Class’ coach we travel via the Tweed River, breaking at Kingscliff. Our onward journey takes us through the picturesque Northern Rivers, breaking at New Italy for lunch before finishing our day at Port Macquarie.
Departing Port Macquarie, we make our way to Tanilba Bay where there lies a hidden treasure. We visit Tanilba House, one of the grand homes which helps form the rich fabric of the history of Port Stephens. We enjoy high tea served in the conservatory and on the verandah, followed by a history talk and tour of this recently restored, convict built homestead. Our afternoon travels take us to the Southern Highlands.
After breakfast, we journey to Canberra, stopping for a cuppa before joining a local guide to who will take us on a Secrets of Canberra drive by tour. Our afternoon venture takes us through rugged alpine landscape and limestone gorges, finish our day in Thredbo.
This morning there are a number of easy self-guided walks such as the Riverside Walk along the Thredbo River; Meadows Nature Track or Mt Kosciuszko Summit look-out walk. Later we take the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift to the Express Terminal where we lunch at the Eagles Nest Restaurant - Australia’s highest restaurant. Enjoy panoramic views of Mount Kosciuszko and Thredbo village below. After lunch, we return to the village and take a thrill ride on The Luge. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, twist and turn down a 700m track through the Thredbo wilderness.
We continue along the Murray Valley Highway to Corryong for our first taste of ‘The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival’. A unique bush gathering of mountain riders, poets, rodeo action and various horse events. We arrive in time to witness the re-enactment of Banjo Patterson’s famous poem ‘The Man from Snowy River’. After the event, we travel the short distance to Khancoban to check-in to our motel located in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains.
**Please note: Accommodation in this country region is very limited and basic. Rooms are with ensuite.

The Man from Snowy River Challenge is second to none and a showcase event of the festival for it has something for everyone. The next two days and nights are yours to do as you please. There’s the Entertainment Marquee with the Bush Poetry Comedy Show, the Working Cattle Dog Championships - a highly competitive event that brings out the best in owners and their dogs, the Ute muster, ‘Ol Foz’ dog jump, ‘Aussie Bush Idol’ talent quest, busking competition and street markets, just to name a few.

Witness the outstanding horsemanship and skill of today’s Australian stockmen and women. All their skills will be on display as they compete in the six gruelling preliminary events set to challenge the most skilled and professional rider and horse teams. The top ten scoring riders move forward from the preliminary events to take centre stage on Sunday and earn their place in the two final events, Paterson’s Brumby Catch and the Kosciusko Stock Saddle Buckjump.

After a leisurely start this morning, we board the coach and make our way onto the Murray Valley Highway skirting the famous Hume Weir passing through the new township of Tallangatta. We continue on travelling via Beechworth, stopping here for morning tea at the famous Beechworth Bakery. From here its onto Glenrowan which is the site of the final siege and capture of Ned Kelly and his gang in 1880. We visit the Ned Kelly Museum which houses many original Kelly and Victorian Police artefacts. Witness through the brilliance of live special effects and animatronic figures, a show that will transport you back to June 28th 1880! Come up on the train with police, and be held captive in the Glenrowan Inn by the Kelly Gang. Witness the Kelly’s take on the Victorian Police in Australia’s most famous gunfight, through the burning hotel and into the Old Melbourne Gaol to Ned’s final moments. This afternoon we arrive in Melbourne for our last night.
Enjoy breakfast at leisure today. Take time this morning to hop on-board the free tourist City Circle Tram to discover Melbourne, take a walk along Southbank or just relax and unwind in the hotel before departing for our respective flights home.

Our coach tours have a baggage restriction of 17kg per person (regardless of flight and rail allowances) due to our Occupational Health & Safety standards. Our Gold Class coaches have a seat capacity of between 44 and 46, but we cap Gold Class tours at 40 guests per tour. Our Diamond Class tours have a capacity of just 26 guests.
