With a population of nearly 150,000, there’s never a dull moment in Darwin. Start your adventure by visiting one of Darwin’s famous markets or festivals like the Darwin Festival, held annually in August featuring a vibrant program of events including cultural performances, art installations, food markets, and more.

The Mindil Beach Sunset Markets are also incredibly popular as they’re the biggest markets in the Northern Territory. From April to October every year, the markets burst with life in every corner with local street food, live performances, pop-up stores and an electric atmosphere.

If you’re looking for that outback adventure, consider a close encounter at Crocosaurus Cove with one of their crocodile cage swims. Or, if you’re wanting something a bit more tame, why not visit Litchfield National Park and swim in the clear rock holes and see the magnetic termite mounds.
