That’s why we’ve introduced a COVID Refund Secure Policy, so you can have complete peace of mind when booking your next trip with us.

Safeguarding your dream holiday

After identifying numerous gaps in travel insurance coverage relating to COVID-19, we decided to bridge these gaps by introducing a dedicated COVID refund policy. That way, you can book your Fun Over 50 Holidays tour without having to worry about financial pressures should you or a close contact catch COVID before your trip.

Bridging the gap for peace of mind

If your holiday is impacted by COVID and your travel insurance claim falls short of covering the full cost of your trip, our refund policy steps in. As of 01/09/23, the most comprehensive travel insurance policy available only covers up to $5,000 per person for COVID-related cancellations. Our policy covers the shortfall for the tour cost beyond that maximum available coverage.

You must hold a valid travel insurance policy for the COVID Refund Secure policy to apply.

How we calculate the gap payment

2 travellers with a shared insurance policy

Tour cost per person less $10,000* = gap payment

Sole traveller with a single insurance policy

Tour cost per person less $5,000* per person = gap payment per person

2 travellers with a single insurance policy each

Tour cost per person less $5,000* per person = gap payment per person

*$5,000 is based on the maximum coverage currently available for a domestic COVID related insurance policy – some insurers pay less than this amount.

The following information is a guide only; when purchasing travel insurance, please ensure you read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) carefully, to fully understand your policy coverage.

Unforeseen delays and cancellations

Unforeseen events can have significant repercussions for a traveller. They can include:

  • Natural disasters like fires or floods
  • Transportation strikes
  • Travel delays in transport like airlines or rail 

If you need to cancel your trip due to unforeseen circumstances, a domestic travel insurance policy can reimburse you for these disruptions, addressing unanticipated expenses for accommodation, meals, and transportation. This sense of security preserves your budget and prevents you from being stranded in an unfamiliar place.

Medical emergencies and evacuations
